I will be sharing an update on how my goals for the new year went in January, but *spoiler alert* it was not good. For February, I am repeating a lot of what I’m already doing or getting more specific. The habits I have decided on for February are:
Weigh in every morning
Drink at least 126oz of water
1-2 miles of walking a day
Create and implement an evening routine
Track my meals
Read a book or listen to a podcast every day
My January post outlines why I am doing the majority of these as they are repeats. To be very frank, I want to lose weight. That is why I am trying to weigh in every morning, increase my water intake, incorporate movement into my life, and track my meals. I know those things work well for me when it comes to weight loss. I just need to get better at doing them all together.
Read a book or listen to a podcast every day
This one is kind of a free space on my bingo card because I pretty much read or listen to a podcast every day, but I know when I do it plays a big factor in how I show up for my other goals. I love listening to a book or podcast while I’m out for a walk or during my evening routine. I also do a great job of consuming good media on the weekday, but not so much on the weekend and it affects my mood. It’s just a little something I can do for myself while my days are heavily toddler-focused and I need to prioritize that a bit more.
So that’s where my head is at going into February! I really am excited to recommit to these goals and keep working towards them. I will share more in a January recap post later this week so be on the lookout for that! But I’m curious…
How are you doing with your 2024 goals? Are you still working towards them or have they fallen by the wayside?
To make things better for me on things I do not want to do ( e.g. lose a couple of pounds) I give myself a small treat when I lose a pound or complete a habit goal. That keeps me going.
I never do well in January. I usually get more energized by the end of it and ready to implement more in February. Good luck to you! Also - might I recommend making your goals a little less restrictive? Like maybe ease into weigh in everyday to weigh in on MWF or something. That always helps me!
